Incredible idea, and it's the most quintessentially American way to show off America. Cars and driving are so part of our cultural DNA in a way Europe doesn't get -- and it's the best way to show off America's best asset -- its vast and astonishingly diverse landscape.

There's also something special about a two-person road trip, different, but just as wonderful as a family one. Shouting along to whatever music tastes you have in common, the deep, honest conversations that empty stretches of highway bring. The closeness of taking sips of each other's oddly flavored drinks you found at the last stop.

Be sure to take some good photos!

what beautiful words--you got me excited all over again! i forgot to mention that: the two-person road trip is such a different (but incredible) energy. especially with the usual distance between us, this is much-needed quality time that we're both so ecstatic for :,) i usually forget in the moment to share pics to notes, but i MUST make sure i do for this trip! thank you for the reminder, and thank you for reading + commenting too! ♥️

so well captured--it's funny how one just craves too-salty chips & crunchy snacks, candy, and sub par gas station coffee on road trips! It's a mood, it's a mindset, it's completely a vibe!
